Kamala Harris Campaign Trail Performance Draws Sharp Criticism
Former Vice President Kamala Harris faced sharp criticism for her recent appearances on the campaign trail. Critics say her speeches lack authenticity and fail to connect with the public. Tiana Lowe Doescher, an economics columnist for the Washington Examiner, ridiculed Harris’s “word salad” during the campaign trail. She said Harris just does not have the right skills for public speaking.
Harris recently spoke at an event for Reproductive Freedom for All in New Hampshire. During her speech, she discussed children’s curiosity in a way that drew mockery. “I mean if you have the chance, in whatever, you know, your circle of life, to just, you know, talk to like an 8-year-old, and it’s one of the best things, you know,” Harris said. Doescher noted that Harris does not have the natural gift for conversation that others possess.
Washington Examiner columnist Joe Concha called Harris’s recent campaign a “human Chernobyl.” He argued that she speaks to voters as if they are children. “She’s condescending in terms of the way she speaks to voters, as if they’re 12 years old,” Concha said on Fox Business. He claimed she is awkward and lacks authenticity when she is not reading from a teleprompter. Concha stated she might be the worst politician of our lifetime.
Concha noted that Harris lost the popular vote and crucial swing states in the 2024 election. He suggested that many Democrats privately do not want her to run again. “Privately, [Democrats] will say, ‘Please, we do not want her to run again,’ because if she’s the nominee, it may be worse than it was in 2024,” Concha said. He emphasized that candidates need a likability factor to succeed.
While campaigning in Wisconsin for David Crowley, Harris offered strong criticism of the Trump White House. She called the administration the most callous and corrupt and incompetent presidential one in American history. The administration was accused by her of carrying out an agenda of “brutality” against Americans. Despite her harsh words, she did not mention President Donald Trump by name once.
Harris also addressed the 2020 election results during her speech in Wisconsin. She noted that her opponent, Tom Tiffany, denied the election outcome based on unsubstantiated claims. She urged voters to organize to protect democracy.
Harris has been traveling to several states to build support for Democratic candidates. She campaigned in New Hampshire, Georgia, Mississippi, Nevada, and Wisconsin. She told voters that Democrats have been upset since President Donald Trump was elected. For the last year and a half, we have been pissed, so. We’ve been depressed, we’ve been angry, we’ve been frustrated, we’ve been feeling alone, hopeless, powerless, Harris said. She added that the phase of throwing things is over.
Speculation continues about whether Harris will run for president again in 2028. During a September event in Detroit, she said she has yet to decide. “I do sincerely believe ’28 won’t matter if we don’t get through ’26,” she said. The midterm elections are scheduled to be held on Nov. 3. Critics remain skeptical about her ability to energize voters for the upcoming race.
