Mica Miller Contacted Police Days Before Incident
A shocking story has emerged from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where a pastor’s wife tragically took her own life. 30-year-old Mica Miller’s death came just two weeks after she accused her estranged husband and Solid Rock Church pastor, John-Paul Miller, of posting nude images of her on Facebook.
According to a police report obtained by DailyMail.com, the couple had a tumultuous relationship leading up to Mica’s death on April 27. She had previously filed for divorce in October 2023 and then withdrew the filing in February, before filing again on April 15 and seeking a no-contact order against her husband. Despite her efforts to protect herself, Mica’s life ended in a devastating way.
On April 8, Mica contacted the Myrtle Beach Police Department after discovering a lewd image of herself on Facebook, which she believed her husband had posted. The photo was allegedly shared in a group called ‘big boobs and nice curves’ and tagged to an old Facebook account of Mica’s, which she no longer had access to.
The police report states that Mica had sent the photo to her husband six months prior and it had been blurred out, but it did not meet the SC Code of Law for nudity. At the time, authorities advised Mica that there was no way to prove her husband had posted the photo and that, legally, the person who received it was now the owner.
Further police reports reveal that the couple had a history of calling the authorities on each other. In March, John-Paul Miller complained that Mica and her family were harassing him on social media, while Mica reported that she found a tracking device on her car and accused her husband of ‘grooming’ her from the age of 10. According to the reports, the couple had been separated since January 2023 and Mica had withdrawn her initial divorce filing in February after being discharged from the hospital, where she believed her husband had initiated an involuntary hospitalization and taken her car.
However, the most heartbreaking incident occurred on April 27, when Mica was found dead at Lumber River State Park in North Carolina with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The tragedy came just 48 hours after John-Paul Miller was served with divorce papers.
During a Sunday service that day, in which he announced his wife’s passing, Miller described her death as ‘self-induced’, leaving his congregation stunned. In the days after her death, Miller’s friends and family held a rally outside the church where he was previously employed, seeking ‘justice for Mica’.
As more details about the couple’s troubled marriage surface, it has been revealed that John-Paul was pursuing at least one other woman while still legally married to Mica. A waitress named Christiana shared flirty messages with him and he even appeared to make light of his wife’s suicide.
Despite their separation, the couple was still legally married and the court records suggest that their relationship was unstable. In October, Mica filed for divorce but then withdrew the filing in February. She then filed again in April, just 12 days before her death, and reportedly sought a no-contact order against her husband.
The circumstances surrounding Mica Miller’s death have sparked speculation and conjecture, fueled in part by a bizarre video of John-Paul informing his congregants of his wife’s suicide at the end of a service. However, evidence released by the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office as part of their investigation conclusively shows that Mica was plotting to end her life.
It is a tragic end to a troubled relationship between two individuals who were once deeply in love. As the investigation continues, more details will come to light about the events leading up to Mica’s death. Our hearts go out to her family and loved ones during this difficult time.
