Qatari officials moved between the two sides on Monday. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met the intermediaries in New York. Direct talks between the U.S. and Iran did not happen yet. Breitbart noted that Trump rejected an Iranian proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz in seven days. The proposal asked for U.S. concessions like lifting the naval blockade.
