Missouri AG Launches Lawsuit
Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has announced a lawsuit against the state of New York, citing what he describes as an “unconstitutional lawfare” against former President Donald Trump. Bailey made this declaration on his podcast, “The Bailey Wire,” stating his intention to combat what he sees as illicit prosecutions aimed at Trump.
Bailey stressed the importance of restoring the rule of law, accusing radical progressives in New York of attempting to rig the 2024 election. He told Fox News Digital, “We have to stand up and fight back,” arguing that the actions against Trump undermine Missourians’ right to a free and fair election.
“We have to fight back against a rogue prosecutor who is trying to take a presidential candidate off the campaign trail,” Bailey wrote on X. His office emphasized that the lawsuit, titled “Missouri vs. New York,” would go directly to the U.S. Supreme Court as it is a state versus state action.
🚨BREAKING: I will be filing suit against the State of New York for their direct attack on our democratic process through unconstitutional lawfare against President Trump.
It’s time to restore the rule of law.

Last month, Bailey initiated an investigation into the Justice Department for documents related to any communications with prosecutors involved in the indictments of Trump. He alleged that the investigations and prosecutions of Trump were coordinated with the United States Department of Justice.
This claim was supported by the transfer of Matthew Colangelo, the third-highest-ranking DOJ official, to the Manhattan DA’s office to aid in prosecuting the criminal case, N.Y. v. Trump.
Bailey also highlighted the involvement of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who worked with New York Attorney General Letitia James in civil litigation against Trump. Bailey noted that Bragg’s campaign for his current position included promises to target Trump.
“During that campaign, Bragg promised ‘if elected, [he] would go after Trump.’ Once he won election, he pledged ‘to personally focus on the high-profile probe into former President Donald Trump’s business practices,’” Bailey stated.
Bailey argued that Bragg’s prosecution, despite its “transparent weakness,” has effectively kept Trump off the campaign trail, a point that President Biden has reportedly boasted about. He suggested that the timing of the charges, which were brought after Trump declared his candidacy for President, along with the weak nature of the charges, implies substantial reason to suspect coordination between the Biden administration, Bragg, and others to bring prosecutions against Trump.
