Over 270 Rioters Detained As Violence Spreads To Milan
Italian law enforcement officials detained more than 270 rioters on Monday. This came after a second day of violent unrest in the historic city of Milan. Per Breitbart, the chaos was described as a “guerrilla war” that left the city in disarray. Local outlets reported that 80 percent of the people taken into custody on Sunday were minors. At least 60 of those detained are migrants. Several individuals now face formal charges for their actions.
The violence started on Saturday and continued into Sunday. Thousands of protesters took part in the riots. They mimicked the chaotic events that happened in France over the same weekend. Police had to stand guard outside the city’s famous cathedral. Tear gas was fired as people threw stones in the square. The unrest spread from the cathedral area to nearby streets and squares. Outdoor seating areas and tables were destroyed along the way. A supermarket on via Torino street was looted by the crowd.
Firey but mostly peaceful scuffles.

Italian police responded with riot units, water cannons, and armored vehicles. They brought the situation “under control” by late afternoon. But the cost was high. At least 14 law enforcement officials sustained injuries during the Sunday riots. Speaking with Rai’s TG1, Angelo De Simone shared his experience. He explained being struck in the head by a stone thrown by one of the protesters. Despite the injury, he kept coordinating law enforcement operations.
He went back to work on Monday. This is not the only place where brave people stepped up. In Toulouse, a young man climbed a statue of Joan of Arc. He ripped off a veil and threw down a Palestinian flag that had been placed there. Another clip from Milan showed a local man with a baton. He stood up to looters breaking windows at an Under Armour store.
No way the BBC did the thing.
They just said protests in France are “mostly peaceful” while showing footage of an entire city up in flames. Unreal. https://t.co/HIy6VjSCAa

While the streets burned, the media tried to spin the story. RedState reports that legacy media worked hard to distort narratives regarding the France riots. They behaved in this same manner as they did with the “mostly peaceful” Black Lives Matter riots. CBS News reported that “scuffles broke out Saturday in Paris between police and small groups of protesters”. The post called it a matter of students having “scuffles” with police. This was later deleted.
One person on social media noted they were “fiery, but mostly peaceful scuffles.” The BBC also called the protests in France “mostly peaceful” while showing footage of a city on fire. RedState wrote that the far-left needs people who will use up social welfare. They claim these groups want to collapse the “evil, bourgeois, capitalist system.” Additionally, they claimed these groups will violently riot if their demands aren’t met.
You cannot make this up… A CNN reporter is standing in front of a building engulfed in flames and CNN’s chyron reads:
“FIERY BUT MOSTLY PEACEFUL PROTESTS AFTER POLICE SHOOTING” https://t.co/4OHvKnh63u

The rioters are not stopping. They reportedly threatened to repeat the violent acts “every Saturday afternoon.” The group behind the calls is the “October 17 Movement.” The Italian news service ANSA detailed that they are calling for a “permanent mobilization” every Saturday. This will continue “until this thief government falls.” The group plans to protest in Milan, Rome, Turin, and Florence.
At least five young adults face pre-trial detention requests from prosecutors in Milan. These charges include aggravated resistance to arrest, vandalism, and looting. The majority of the detainees remain in custody as of Monday morning. The situation remains tense as the government faces this ongoing challenge. Angelo De Simone said he received four stitches but went back to work Monday.
