Trump Reveals The Real Reason He Will Veto Every Dem Bill
President Donald Trump has promised to veto “insane” legislation from Democrats now that the party controls Congress. He made this pledge during live Election Night coverage on Tuesday. The President sees his veto power as a tool to force future deals. He plans to block bills until lawmakers ask how to get things done.
Democrats seized control of both the House and Senate in Tuesday’s midterm elections. At least seven Republican Senate seats and more than two dozen House districts were flipped by them. Trump told Fox News he was surprised by the results but confident in his path forward. He called in to the channel around midnight Wednesday to share his thoughts. “Well, I’m a little bit surprised. I thought they’d do better. We had tremendous rallies,” the President said.

Trump pointed to rising gasoline costs as a major reason for Republican losses. He told Fox News anchor Bret Baier that the issue hurt the party more than the war in Iran. “I don’t think it’s the war, Bret, I think it’s the gasoline price,” he stated. He believes voters were frustrated by the cost at the pump. This financial pain likely outweighed other campaign messages for many Americans.
Despite the loss, the White House mood remains tough. A White House official told Breitbart News that the team is ready for a fight. “The White House mood is defiant,” the official said. The official also noted that President Trump was not on the ballot in many races. They argued that Trump voters show up in high numbers when he is on the ballot. “And a final note here: regardless of how today plays out, President Trump’s resolve to stop the Radical Left is only going to become stronger. ,” the official added.
Trump views the new Democratic majority as a chance to negotiate from a position of strength. He told Breitbart he might become “Mr. Veto” if Democrats push too hard. “Well, if that happens, I guess I’ll become Mr. Veto,” he said. He explained that this is a normal part of how government works. “And then at some point, we’ll probably make deals. That’s what’s happened,” he noted. He expects that after a few months of vetoes, Democrats will come to the table.

The President has already started making calls to Democratic lawmakers. “You know, I have a lot of friends that are Democrats, believe it or not. I’ve already spoken to some of them,” Trump said. However, he drew a hard line on specific issues. He told reporters he could not work with them on an open border. He also said no to men playing in women’s sports. “Could I work with them on men playing… in women’s sports? No, I don’t think so. I mean, I don’t think men should be playing,” he said.
A red baseball cap bearing the word “VETO” on its front was shared by Trump. This image signals his readiness to use his constitutional power. He believes the current situation is not a referendum on his leadership. For over a decade, he stated that Democrats had desired an evening such as this. The path forward involves blocking bills and waiting for a deal. The President has made it clear he will not back down on core principles.
